Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne powers Atlas V Upper Stage to launch X-37B into orbit
CANOGA PARK, Calif., 12 Dec. 2012. Propulsion systems from Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company, and RD AMROSS LLC, a joint venture of Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne and NPO Energomash, helped propel the United Launch AllianceAtlas V rocket, which launched the U.S. Air ForceX-37B into orbit.
The Atlas V is powered by the RD AMROSS RD-180 booster engine and a Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne RL10A4-2 upper-stage engine.
