LONDON, 24 Jan. 2013. Nine23 won a contract from the U.K.’s Royal Air Force (RAF) under Project LINK, a mobility program targeted at driving down operating costs and increasing capability by harnessing the operational effectiveness and resource efficiencies inherent in mobile technology.

Nine23's technical solution is centered on the creation of the RAF's Enterprise-level App Store, an easy-to-use mobile application solution that secures all corporate data on mobile devices. The RAF App Store will enable the distribution and management of applications and content, as well as enable enterprise grade security on a per-app basis via Symantec's Mobile Device and Content Management System (MDM & CMS).

Nine23 will manage and deliver the trial at RAF High Wycombe and RAF Brize Norton.

More than 8 gigabytes of flight documentation and training systems will be digitized as part of the project, supporting the RAF's Fleet of C17 Globemasters with Apple iPad and iPad minis. Secured Cloud-based data storage will provide additional assurance and security to the project trial.

Nine23 Chairman and Rear Admiral Philip Wilcocks CB DSC says: "nine23 feels privileged to be able to support the RAF in this trial to develop their vision for the use of mobile technology in providing considerably enhanced operational capability. We look forward to the successful conclusion of this trial later this year, potentially leading to a force wide roll out of the very latest in mobile technology in the future."
