- unmanned aerial vehicles, or remotely piloted aircraft systems (UAVs/RPAS) and associated ground control stations,
- and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities, including retrofitting existing civil and defense aircraft with modern, intelligent avionics.

The 2013 conference program includes a departure from the podium-style sessions: an interactive panel and question-and-answer session on cockpit displays. A panel of specialists from some of the hottest commercial, general, and military aviation technology firms will discuss and debate: pilot situational awareness, low-visibility conditions and challenges, and the pros and cons of various devices, including head-up and head-down displays, helmet-mounted and monocle displays, enhanced and synthetic vision systems, and touch-screen and panoramic color displays.

The latest additions not only bring fresh points of view to an already stellar team, but also ramp up the charisma, passion, and excitement to an entirely new level.
New Advisory Board members include: Vance Hilderman, an experienced avionics engineer, entrepreneur, and renowned author and speaker.
In his 25-year career as an embedded avionics engineer/manager, Hilderman developed more than 150 critical embedded avionics and safety-critical systems, including the world’s first DO-178B avionics software training and commercial avionics software processes. A leading expert on avionics certification, Hilderman founded one of the largest independent avionics software services companies in the world. After retiring upon the sale of his company, Hilderman co-founded and served as president of HighRely Inc., one of the largest U.S. avionics software/certification companies, which was acquired by Atego. Hilderman currently serves as president of Atego HighRely.
John Law, an important and valuable member of the Advisory Board for years, retired from his post at EUROCONTROL and, in turn, relinquished his seat on the Board. The entire team appreciates having had the opportunity to work and socialize with this pillar of the aviation community. We offer our sincere thanks and appreciation for his time, dedication, contributions, and friendship.
Christos Rekkas, CASCADE program manager in EUROCONTROL, will fill the seat previously occupied by Law. In his role at EUROCONTROL, Rekkas coordinates the deployment of initial ADS-B applications and wide area multilateration in Europe, as well as serves as the EUROCONTROL Surveillance focal point for SESAR.
