MEN Mikro demonstrates FPGA-based, triple-redundant 6U CompactPCI SBC

MUNICH, 20 Feb. 2013. At Avionics Europe 2013, MEN Mikro is presenting its 6U, single-slot, FPGA-based D602, which was initially developed according to DO-254 as a safe computer for controlling the freight load system of the Airbus A400M.
MUNICH, 20 Feb. 2013. At Avionics Europe 2013, MEN Mikro is presenting its 6U, single-slot, FPGA-based D602, which was initially developed according to DO-254 as a safe computer for controlling the freight load system of the Airbus A400M.

Now available as a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) component, the new board is well suited to mission-critical avionics applications.

The cPCI SBC’s lock-step architecture provides a redundant computing system that runs the same set of operations in parallel. Programming only views hardware components once, keeping software development costs low.

The triple-redundant board combines reliability and low-cost implementation to provide high reliability up to DAL A (catastrophic), the most stringent level.

The device is also available in VME version as A602.
