MUNICH, 21 Feb. 2013. At Avionics Europe 2013, Aitech executives are presenting the company’s commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) computing products designed for use in harsh environments.

The A171 RCP (Rugged Compact PC) delivers all the features of a standard PC in a rugged compact enclosure. Utilising a high performance 2.0 GHz Core i7 processor, up to 128 GB solid-state on-board storage and a wide range of PC industry standard I/O including timing and temperature sensing, this advanced system brings the standard PC operating environment to harsh working environments.

The A175 I/O Expansion Sub-system is a compact and lightweight (<1.2 kg) single board design that significantly expands an avionics computer’s I/O capabilities by adding a large variety of I/O interface options accessible via a MIL-STD-1553B link.

Delivering high performance with very low power consumption, both the A171 and A175 advanced computer products are environmentally sealed in rugged, compact and lightweight, Faraday cage enclosures. They are passive-air cooled, highly reliable and designed for use under extreme environmental conditions.

Today’s parallel processing capabilities of multi-core Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) also makes them ideal for many computationally intensive non-graphics applications. Aitech’s C530 GPGPU board enables incorporation of these capabilities in harsh environment computing systems. The boards are available in two configurations: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M or the AMD Radeon HD 6970M graphic processors.
