HOOFDDORP, The Netherlands, 28 April 2013. Flight deck avionics experts at Fokker Services in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands, will install electronic flight bag (EFB) capability on the Airbus A320 fleet of charter, aircraft lease operator Avion Express in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Fokker and Avion Express officials have concluded an agreement covering the introduction of the Fokker Services EFB solution for the Apple iPad tablet computer on Avion Express A320 narrowbody passenger jetliners.

The Fokker Services iPad EFB is a Class 2B, EASA-certified installation including mounting and power supply. Avion Express will use the iPad EFB on the company's A320 fleet to save weight and enhance enhanced accessibility of information and performance data, officials say.

The iPad EFB from Fokker "provides a simple, fully approved solution to be able to implement this solution quickly and cost-effectively," says Aleksei Lupitski, managing director at Avion Express.

The Fokker Services iPad EFB covers the hardware to mount and power the iPad and certification and supporting data, such as manual supplements. The Avion Express fleet includes five Airbus A320s, and two Airbus A319s.
