Pratt & Whitney aircraft engines

Pratt & Whitney officials responded almost immediately, issuing the following statement the same day as the crash, 6 July 2013.

“On July 6, an Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines was involved in an accident at San Francisco International Airport. Pratt & Whitney is cooperating fully with investigating authorities, however we are unable to offer any further comment as the investigation is ongoing.”

Pratt & Whitney officials reportedly sent a team of its employees to San Francisco to assist in the investigation of the 6 July 2013 crash of an Asiana Airlines jetliner powered by the company's engines.
