It has been a busy month for news with aviation-related incidents--including crash landings, equipment failures, and deadly crashes--commanding worldwide attention.

It has been a busy month for news with aviation-related incidents--including crash landings, equipment failures, and deadly crashes--commanding worldwide attention. Aerospace professionals, especially those working on the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in the U.S., have focused their attentions on commercial aviation and general aviation incidents in:

- Soldotna, Alaska, where a de Havilland DHC-3 Otter single-engine, high-wing, propeller-driven, short takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft operating as an air taxi crashed, and

- San Francisco, California, where a Boeing 777 commercial airliner operated by Asiana Airlines crash-landed.

Both accidents are under investigation, but news being released almost daily related to Asiana Airlines Flight 214.
