SANTA ROSA, Calif., 31 July 2013. Deposition Sciences Inc. (DSI), a manufacturer of highly durable thin film optical coatings, will showcase specialized optical thin films for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) at AUVSI in Washington from August 13 through 15, 2013.

DSI’s rugged optical thin films are well suited for unmanned systems and advanced military and defense applications, such as night vision, displays, large optics, thermal imaging, CCDs, telescope optics, and more.

High-performance, specialized filters from DSI can be applied to complex shapes and sizes and to a wide variety of substrates, including metal, glass, ceramics, plastics, and active-device silicon wafers.

Extremely durable optical coatings include: anti-reflection, infrared thin film coatings, dark mirrors, patterned optical filters, advanced multispectral optical filter assemblies, and dielectric, multilayer, and dichroic filters.

DSI is an accredited facility and has in place the infrastructure to support government and aerospace contracts.

ITAR registered and ISO 9001:2008 compliant, DSI’s durable optical filters provide zero-shift capabilities in ultraviolet (UV), visible, near-infrared (NIR), shortwave infrared (SWIR), midwave-IR (MWIR), longwave IR (LWIR), and very longwave IR (VLWIR) applications. Ideal for high thermal loads and high thermal shock, the coatings are tested to MIL-C-48497 and MIL-F-48616 standards for humidity, salt fog, abrasion, temperature cycle, adhesion, solubility, and cleaning.
