VICTORIA, B.C., 9 Aug. 2013. Officials at Coast to Coast Helicopters, a large air fleet operator in Canada, needed a flight data monitoring (FDM) system for installation on a Bell 212 helicopter going into service for Mustang Helicopters, a Coast to Coast subsidiary based in Blackfalds, Alberta. They found their solution at Latitude Technologies.
Coast to Coast Helicopters selected Latitude's IONode FDM system for the installation, which includes a Latitude SkyNode S200 SatCom voice, messaging, and tracking unit that enables real-time event notifications as part of the IONode FDM system.
Latitude's IONode ION3 and ION4 lightweight flight data recorders and the IONode FDM system, including Latitude Flight Analytics, are being adopted by fleet operators seeking a high-quality, comprehensive flight and engine data monitoring, recording, and reporting solution at a cost-affordable price, says a company representative.
Coast to Coast Helicopters group, reportedly the largest family-owned business in Canada, possesses more than 130 aircraft. The fleet is composed of 19 varieties, including medium, intermediate, and light lift helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, operating from a global network of bases. In the last 15 years, six operators from across Canada have joined Coast to Coast, including: Mustang Helicopters, Heli-Excel, Heli-Inter, Exact Air, Heli-Nation, and Helicraft.
