SEATTLE, 10 Oct. 2013. Officials at UTair, a leading airline in Russia, took possession of a Next-Generation 737-800 jet airliner that marks the first of 40 Boeing (NYSE:BA) Next-Generation 737commercial aircraft from The Boeing Company in Seattle.
UTair officials currently have another 39 directly purchased Next-Generation 737s on order and scheduled to be delivered in the next several years.
"Next-Generation Boeing 737 airplanes meet today's development needs of the airline by their optimized operating performance and value-for-money proposition," says UTair CEO Andrey Martirosov. “We successfully operate aircraft of this type and new airplanes will allow us to continue enhancing efficiency of our route network and drive customer appeal for both domestic and international flights.”
UTair's new 737-800 seats 162 passengers and features the new Boeing Sky Interior, which offers such enhancements as LED lighting, sculpted sidewalls, and overhead bins that disappear into the ceiling, yet carry more bags.

The Boeing 737-800 is a best-selling version of Boeing’s Next-Generation 737 family of advanced airplanes in the single-aisle market. Next-Generation 737 family has won orders for more than 6,500 airplanes, while the whole 737 family has surpassed 11,000 orders to date.
