Boeing Seattle Seahawks 747-8 flies 12 pattern over Washington State in advance of Super Bowl

EVERETT, Wash., 31 Jan. 2014. The Boeing Company has Super Bowl fever, showing its support for its hometown team by unveiling a Boeing 747-8 commercial airliner painted in the livery of the Seattle Seahawks. The company flew the aircraft, in celebration of the NFL’s National Football Conference (NFC) Champion Seahawks and their fans, collectively known as “12^th Man,” and in commemoration of the team’s upcoming appearance in Super Bowl XLVIII.

A Boeing 747-8 Freighter painted with the Seahawks team colors, team logo, “12” on the tail, and “Spirit of 12s” and “Go Hawks!”’ rolled out of the hangar and onto the tarmac at Paine Field Airport in Everett, Wash., on Thursday, 30 Jan. 2014.

It took off from Paine Field, touched down briefly at Boeing Field, and then journeyed over Seattle’s Space Needle before flying a “12” pattern over Eastern Washington.

Boeing owns the 747-8F, which is used for flight testing.
