Officials of the Army's Office of the Aviation Development Directorate (ADD) will conduct industry briefings on 6 and 7 March 2014 on basic, applied, and advanced aviation research, and how industry can help the Army move this work to higher levels of development and evaluation.
Briefings will be in the main conference room, building 3711, at Redstone Arsenal, Ala. Check-in for both days is at 7:30 a.m. local time, and briefings begin at 8 a.m. The purpose is to help industry plan, foster, and encourage scientific research for the Army's current and future aircraft fleet.
The Army operates a variety of aircraft -- primarily helicopters, but also some fixed-wing reconnaissance and transport aircraft. The Army's aircraft fleet includes AH-64 attack helicopters, CH-47 cargo helicopters, MH-6 multirole helicopters, OH-58 observation helicopters, TH-67 trainer helicopters, UH-60 and UH-72 utility helicopters, as well as reconnaissance and transport fixed-wing aircraft.
The briefings will offer limited opportunities for 30-minute sidebar meetings on 7 March. Briefings will concern upcoming new programs and project overviews, experimental results, and project plans for future Aviation research. Focus areas are mission systems, platforms, sustainment, concept designs and assessment, power, basic research, and contracting opportunities.
Briefings are free and open to two representatives from each company attending. No foreign nationals will be allowed. Those who wish to attend must register no later than 28 Feb. 2014. No walk-ins will be permitted.
