SUNDSVALL, Sweden, 12 May 2014. Officials at ACT Airlines in Istanbul sought the optimal tablet-based system for the airline’s electronic flight bag (EFB) initiative. They found their solution at navAero Inc., choosing the navAero iPad Air Class 2 EFB system as the platform of choice for the airline.
The adaptable navAero iPad “Smart” Mount system with the integrated power interface module will be deployed to provide an installed platform for holding the Apple iPad device, as well as supply certified connectivity to aircraft power for device charging. The integrated system will allow ACT to realize maximum functionality of the iPad Air tablet as a deployed Class 2 EFB platform. The ACT EFB program will be implemented on both the Airbus A300 and Boeing B747 fleets with first installations planned to take place in second quarter (Q2) of 2014.
