FARNBOROUGH, England, 15 July 2014. Parker Aerospace, a business segment of Parker Hannifin Corp., is designing an integrated engine oil replenishment system as an option for business jet (bizjet) aircraft.

Parker’s integrated engine lubrication system offers benefits to next-generation helicopters and small-engine aircraft, including simplified system design and operation, as well as reduced weight and size.

An oil replenishment system enables business aircraft operators to replenish system oil levels as required in areas where ground maintenance crews may not be readily available. A control panel at ground level in the rear of the fuselage is easily accessed by the flight crew, allowing them to replenish engine oil in seconds by simply turning a switch and pressing a button. The system is powered by the aircraft’s 28-volt battery. The system can be easily adapted for two- or three-engine aircraft.

“There are other multi-component systems in operation, but this will be the first combining the various parts — reservoir, pump and controls — into one piece of equipment, leveraging the strength of Parker’s broad range of products and ability to integrate across engines and airframes,” says Jim McShane, director of business development, Parker Aerospace Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division.
