RESTON, Va., 16 June 2016. Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services UK has partnered with ENVITIA to boost the ability of the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence (MOD) to respond to crises worldwide in a more effective and efficient manner. The companies are working on the first phase of the Defence Geospatial Services (DGS) program, designed to provide a step change in the MOD’s situational awareness capabilities.

Under the contract, ENVITIA and HP will provide a system that will deliver foundation geointelligence (GEOINT) across the MOD, enabling military personnel and civil servants to search, discover, and retrieve foundation GEOINT directly from DII terminals.

“ENVITIA is delighted to be working in partnership with HP and the UK Ministry of Defence to deliver this important new capability,” says ENVITIA Business Development Manager Mark Richardson. “The contract award recognises our status as a world leading provider of geospatial solutions and software to the Defence sector. We are committed from the top down to realising the DGS vision.”

ENVITIA and HP will deploy an advanced and flexible Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) to support defense based entirely on open standards and open architecture. This SDI will underpin information management and the discovery of foundation GEOINT coupled with enhanced Task and Workflow Management.

ENVITIA is a provider of geospatial intelligence technologies, including COTS software and solutions that are employed globally across a wide spectrum of disciplines, including environmental analysis and exploitation, data fusion and integrity, and the management of very large and disparate datasets with extreme precision. Working with partners, the company offers comprehensive geospatial intelligence services to operational forces.

HP creates new possibilities for technology to have a meaningful impact on people, businesses, governments and society. With the broadest technology portfolio spanning printing, personal systems, software, services and IT infrastructure, HP delivers solutions for customers’ most complex challenges in every region of the world.
