747 gets cold shoulder as two airlines scoop up 777 freighters at Paris Air Show

Boeing's 747 faces some serious competition, but it's not coming from Airbus or some hot, new Chinese jet. Boeing (NYSE: BA) announced a combination of nine orders and commitments for Boeing 777F freighters Monday, the first day of the Paris Air Show.

Boeing's 747 faces some serious competition, but it's not coming from Airbus or some hot, new Chinese jet. Boeing (NYSE: BA) announced a combination of nine orders and commitments for Boeing 777F freighters Monday, the first day of the Paris Air Show. The combination, an order for four 777F jets from Qatar Airways, and a commitment for five from EVA Airways, is worth $2.7 billion at the list price.
