UTC confirms plans to spin-off or sell its Sikorsky helicopters unit at Paris air show

Shares of United Technologies Corp (NYSE:UTX) were trading 2.56 percent lower today after the company said it was ready to entertain purchase offers for its Sikorsky helicopter manufacturing division. UTC said lower than expected revenue from its helicopter division, due to lower energy costs, which have prompted less exploration activity in the oil and gas industry, a big customer, has also lowered its full year earnings guidance.
