CONNECTED AIRCRAFT ENABLING TECHNOLOGIES. High-speed networking and signals integrity specialists review the environmental and mechanical needs of high-speed interconnects in aerospace applications, discuss how commercial protocols are being adapted for aerospace/defense, and answer high-tech questions from the audience in a free webinar -- available on demand on Intelligent-Aerospace.com -- on the growing use of commercial protocols, including Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, USB, and IEEE 1394.

With the growing use of commercial protocols—such as Gigabit/10Gigabit Ethernet, USB, and IEEE 1394—in aerospace applications, designers must balance the commercial standards against the demanding needs of increased ruggedness and weight savings.

  • Review the special environmental and mechanical needs of high-speed interconnects in aerospace applications
  • Learn how commercial protocols are being adapted for aerospace/defense—with smaller, lighter cable and connectors
  • Demonstrate the high-speed signaling limitations of widely used legacy mil-spec connectors
  • See how a new generation of impedance-matched, purpose-built connectors support 10G protocols better than legacy mil-spec products
  • See how cable design is providing small and lighter cables with low smoke and low toxicity
