Rockwell Collins opens new center of excellence in England focused on engineering, program management

WINNERSH, England, 4 Nov. 2015. Rockwell Collins, celebrating six decades in the United Kingdom (U.K.), has officially opened a new center of excellence in Winnersh, England, to support commercial and military aerospace customers. The new site hosts high-value engineering, business development, program management, and shared service functions.

Rockwell Collins, celebrating six decades in the United Kingdom (U.K.), has officially opened a new center of excellence in Winnersh, England, to support commercial and military aerospace customers. The new site hosts high-value engineering, business development, program management, and shared service functions.

“From this new center of excellence, we’ll respond to customer demand by bringing to the market innovative capabilities in areas such as satellite navigation and networking,” says Colin Mahoney, senior vice president, international and service solutions for Rockwell Collins.

The new building features 40,000 square feet of laboratory facilities with research and development space, plus 30,000 square feet of offices over three floors.

With three main sites at Winnersh, Burgess Hill, and Crawley, Rockwell Collins employs more than 480 people in the U.K. with exports representing more than 75 percent of its revenues. Since 1955, Rockwell Collins has expanded its presence in the U.K. to provide a range of aviation electronics, communications, and simulation and training solutions to governments, aircraft manufacturers, and OEMs in the United Kingdom, Europe, and around the world.

Rockwell Collins is an approved British defense contractor and works closely with all facets of the defense industry, from small and medium enterprises to large multinational defense firms.

Rockwell Collins develops and deploys communication and aviation electronic solutions for both commercial and government applications, offering expertise in flight deck avionics, cabin electronics, mission communications, simulation and training, and information management by a global workforce, as well as a service and support network that crosses more than 150 countries.
