NBAA - LAS VEGAS, 19 Nov. 2015. L-3 Aviation Products (L-3 AP) and Thomas Global Systems are cooperatively developing CRT-to-LCD display upgrade products intended to mitigate CRT-related maintenance costs, downtime, and obsolescence issues, while providing a cost-effective growth path for cockpit upgrades.

“L-3 is delighted to be working with Thomas Global, leveraging its CRT-to-LCD display conversion technology and growing commercial market presence,” explains Stuart Mullan, president of L-3 Aviation Products. “This agreement builds on our recent award from ATR to provide an LCD display upgrade for its 42/72 aircraft. The ATR program is a springboard for CRT-to-LCD upgrades on other aircraft platforms.”

L-3 Aviation Products President Stuart Mullan and Thomas Global Systems CEO Angus Hutchinson sign an alliance agreement to offer LCD upgrades to replace CRT displays in the cockpits of business and regional jets

“This agreement leverages the exceptional display experience of both Thomas and L-3, and builds on the launch of Thomas’ TFD-8601 display, which is designed to replace legacy CRT primary flight displays on corporate and regional aircraft.” says Thomas Global CEO Angus Hutchinson.
