HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., 2 Dec. 2015. Behlman Electronics Inc., a provider of power products for military airborne, shipboard, and mobile programs, is introducing its CE Marked BLC Series AC Power Sources to provide single- or three-phase output in a range of power from 3,000 volt-amperes (VA) to 9,000 VA.

“Engineers developed the new ultra-rugged BLC series with the EMC and Safety directives required by European standards,” explains Behlman President Ron Storm.

Behlman offers 39 AC power sources in its line of power products that supply clean, regulated, efficient AC power for precision avionic test and power conversion, industrial product testing, ATE, bulk power, and motor generator replacement.

BLC Series AC Power Sources deliver low cost per VA; rugged construction; clean sine wave output with excellent line and load regulation; high efficiency, and low harmonic distortion, officials say. A multi-pulse input transformer ensures low-input harmonic distortion and high power factor. Unique protection circuitry provides over-temperature and short-circuit protection, plus voltage fold-back that maintains undistorted waveforms during overloads.

Voltage and frequency adjustment, line drop compensation, phase angle adjustment, external sync and output on/off with remote power connection, and CE Mark are standard. Optional features include fixed voltage and frequency, output transformers, analog remote control interface, and extended frequency range up to 1000 HZ.

Exceptionally valuable for those involved with motor testing, Behlman BLC Series Power Sources offer a Motor Test Option that can soft-start motors, pumps and compressors. This eliminates both the need for higher power devices, and the bothersome and time-consuming task of clamping the motor to the test bench to prevent it from falling.

Behlman BLC Series Power Supplies are 19-inch rack mounted units.

Behlman Electronics Inc., a subsidiary of Orbit International Corp., manufactures and sells high-quality standard, modified-standard, custom, and COTS power solutions, including AC power supplies, frequency converters, inverters, DC-DC, AC-DC, DC-AC, uninterruptible power supplies, and the VPXtra line of VPX/VME power supplies.

Orbit International Corp., based in Hauppauge, New York, is involved in the manufacture of customized electronic components and subsystems for military and nonmilitary government applications. Other subsidiaries and divisions include Orbit Instrument, Tulip Development Laboratory, and Integrated Combat Systems, all of which are members of the Orbit Electronics Group.
