EL SEGUNDO, Calif., 15 April 2016. National Instruments has added AntSyn antenna synthesis and optimization technology to the NI AWR software product portfolio. AntSyn is a new cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) antenna design, synthesis, and optimization solution that enables designers to input their antenna engineering requirements and produce antenna designs as outputs.

Designed to be used by both experts and those who are relatively new to antenna design, AntSyn addresses the growing need for rapid development of embedded miniaturized, high-performance antennas called for by the Internet of Things (IoT) and other emerging wireless applications. It uses a proprietary evolutionary algorithm to perform smart optimizations and features an easy-to-use, templated approach.

The software supports dozens of antenna types ranging from spirals to patch antennas to Yagi and Vivaldi styles, including many types that are only available using computer-based optimization. The cloud-based execution enables faster and more efficient design space exploration.

AntSyn is available for both evaluation and term-based licensing today.

The NI AWR Design Environment software portfolio includes RF/microwave electronic design automation (EDA) tools such as Visual System Simulator for system design, Microwave Office/Analog Office for microwave/RF circuit design, and AXIEM and Analyst for electromagnetic analysis. NI AWR software tools help design engineers to dramatically reduce development time and cost for components, circuits, systems, and subsystems employed in aerospace and defense, electro-optical wireless, high-speed wired, and broadband applications.

Since 1976, NI has made it possible for engineers and scientists to solve the world’s greatest engineering challenges with powerful, flexible technology solutions that accelerate productivity and drive rapid innovation. Customers from a wide variety of industries–from healthcare to automotive and from consumer electronics to particle physics–use NI’s integrated hardware and software platform to improve the world we live in.
