LYNNWOOD, Wash., 19 July 2016.Crane Aerospace & Electronics, a segment of Crane Co. (NYSE:CR), is providing its SmartStem Wireless Tire Pressure Monitoring System for the retrofit of Japan Airlines’ (JAL’s) fleet of 50 Boeing 737NG and 42 Boeing 767 aircraft. With the SmartStem system, Japan Airlines personnel gain the ability to check tire pressure quickly and accurately, improve dispatch times, enhance safety, and track tire life performance.
The SmartStem system includes: high-accuracy SmartStem tire pressure sensors, which replace the existing standard wheel fill stems, and a handheld reader, which electronically reads and stores tire pressure and temperature.
SmartStem is certified for retrofit on a number of large commercial and regional aircraft as well as many business aircraft. Commercial certifications include the Boeing 737NG, 747-400, 767, 777, and 787, and the Bombardier CRJ and DHC-8 aircraft.

That makes the selection all the more significant.”
