WASHINGTON, 18 Oct. 2016. Officials at the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT’s) Volpe National Transportation Systems Center have selected Engility Holdings Inc. (NYSE:EGL) in Chantilly, Virginia, to provide engineering and technical services as well as financial and program management supporting the modernization of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) NextGen air traffic management (ATM) system. The five-year contract is valued at $369 million.

“Engility supports the Federal Government’s high-priority mission to develop and implement leading-edge technology that advances the efficiency and safety of our nation’s aviation transportation system,” says Engility CEO Lynn Dugle. “This award reflects our DOT team’s strong capabilities and past performance, and we look forward to continuing this partnership.”

Under this contract, the Engility team will support the FAA air traffic organization’s Program Management Office (PMO). This win broadens Engility’s support to the PMO, which is the lynchpin for the FAA’s acquisition and implementation of NextGen, as well as all communications, navigation, weather, surveillance, and automation modernization programs.

This single award contract, with a ceiling value of $369 million, is a fourth-quarter win representing a combination of new and existing work, which primarily will be performed as cost-plus-fixed-fee.
