Air Traffic Control Association and HiddenGenius.com launch UAS sense-and-avoid technology competition
SYRACUSE, N.Y., 27 Oct. 2016. The UTM Convention 2016, an Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) event on unmanned traffic management (UTM) in Syracuse, New York, and HiddenGenius.com are partnering to launch a technology competition that demonstrates sense-and-avoid (SAA) technologies for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), commonly called drones.
At ATCA’s UTM Convention, officials will hold a preliminary event intended to lead into a competition with a much larger prize, predicted to be $15,000, for tackling the critical challenge of UAS sensing and avoiding low-flying aircraft.
A video introducing the competition can be viewed online at http://ow.ly/V3TH305AMs6.
A preliminary competition will be held on 9 Nov. 2016 in conjunction with #UTMConvention 2016 at the Oncenter in Syracuse, N.Y.
