RESTON, Va.Leidos (NYSE:LDOS), a global science and technology company in Reston, Virginia, won a U.S. Army task order – with a total value of $64 million over one base year and two nine-month options, if exercised – to integrate, test, and demonstrate three complete Airborne Reconnaissance Low-Enhanced (ARL-E) manned, multi-intelligent aircraft.

ARL-E aircraft provide a persistent capability to detect, locate, classify/identify, and track surface targets in day and night in nearly all weather conditions, with timeliness and accuracy. Leidos engineers will integrate the Mission Equipment Payload (MEP) onto the DHC-8 aircraft, perform testing, and deliver the complete ARL-E system. Under the option periods, Leidos will integrate the second and third MEP on ARL-E systems 2 and 3. Work will culminate with a system demonstration and delivery of up to three complete ARL-E systems.

Work will be performed primarily at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.

"Delivering additional ARL-E MEP systems to the Army recognizes Leidos' success in developing the next generation of modular, mutli-INT intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems to meet evolving threat environment that the nation's combat forces are facing," says Leidos Group President Mike Chagnon.

Leidos is a FORTUNE 500 science and technology solutions and services company working to solve the world's toughest challenges in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets, officials say.
