MCLEAN, Va. U.S. Navy officials sought an industry partner to help design and develop a variety of vital communications and electronics equipment in support of the Naval Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD). BAE Systems in McLean, Virginia, won a 22-month, $76 million contract to support the rapid design and development, fabrication, customization, and life-cycle maintenance of both new and existing communications and electronics platforms.

BAE Systems will also support the testing, evaluation, installation, integration, and certification of mission equipment and systems for NAWCAD’s Special Communications Mission Solutions Division. This equipment, by NAWCAD, enables secure communications and is widely used by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, Joint Special Operations Forces, and other U.S. Department of Defense and federal government agencies.

Work on this contract will be performed at customer and company facilities in St. Inigoes, Maryland; Chesapeake, Virginia; and Fayetteville, North Carolina.
