HARLEYSVILLE, Pa. The newly EASA- and FAA-certified Pilatus PC-24 business jet (bizjet), called the super versatile jet, from Pilatus in Stans, Switzerland, features ACL23A-4 aileron and rudder trim actuator systems from the Power and Data Systems (PDS) business unit of AMETEK Aerospace & Defense in Harleysville, Pennsylvania.

Crafted in Switzerland, the Pilatus PC-24 combines the practicality of a turboprop with the performance of a light jet and the cabin size of a medium light jet, officials say. It’s flexible interior and cargo door make loading fast and easy. The company’s first business jet is designed to operate from short, paved or unpaved surfaces, giving pilots access to more than 20,000 airports worldwide.

The AMETEK Power & Data Systems ACL23A-4 Actuator is a single-motor, dual-ram linear electromechanical actuator weighing less than two pounds (1kg) and capable of operating loads over 550 pounds at operating temperatures between -65°C and +85°C. Each actuator is engineered and rigorously tested for maximum reliability, ensuring it exceeds rigid DO-160 environmental requirements.

AMETEK Power and Data Systems provides aircraft actuation with more than 50 years of design and manufacturing experience. Its trusted rotary and linear actuators are used in various commercial, business and military aircraft applications, including flaps, surface trim, cabin doors, ram air doors, valve control, cargo locks, and much more.

AMETEK Power and Data Systems designs and manufactures integrated power generation and solid state power distribution systems, starter generators, generator control units, primary/secondary power distribution, DC brushed and brushless motors, linear and rotary mechanical and electromechanical actuators, data concentration and cockpit instruments for the turboprop, business jet, and regional and commercial transport, helicopter, military aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

The business is a unit of AMETEK Aerospace & Defense, maker of engine and aircraft monitoring systems; data acquisition units; fuel and fluid measurement systems; heat transfer and cooling systems; and maintenance and repair services. AMETEK Aerospace & Defense is a division of AMETEK Inc., a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices with annual sales of $4.3 billion.
