Start-up carrier Bamboo Airways orders 20 Boeing Dreamliner commercial passenger jets

28 June 2018 -- The passenger jetliner deal with the Vietnam carrier, when completed, would be worth $5.6 billion at current list prices. The 20 787-9 airplanes, tentatively are scheduled to deliver from April 2020 through 2021.
Bamboo Airways is a start-up airline that plans to begin commercial operations in 2019 out of the capital city of Hanoi, Vietnam. The carrier plans to offer flights within Vietnam before expanding into other north-east Asian markets such as China, Korea and Japan.
The 787 Dreamliner is an all-new, super-efficient family of commercial airplanes. Bamboo Airways is wholly-owned by the FLC Group, a Vietnamese multi-industry company, focusing on aviation, real estate, resorts, farming, and golf.
