SINGAPORE -- The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and Germany's DFS Aviation Services have signed a memorandum of understanding for collaboration on air traffic management technologies, management concepts and solutions.
"This collaboration is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance ATM safety and efficiency in our busy skies," said Kevin Shum, CAAS Director-General. "Asia is one of the fastest growing air transport regions in the world today. This memorandum will enable our organizations to explore and develop more innovative solutions to accommodate aviation growth."
DFS Aviation Services, a commercial subsidiary of air navigation services provider DFS Deutsche Flugischerung, said it will build on the experience it has already gained through its work at some of the busiest airports in Europe.
The move is the latest by CAAS to improve its air traffic improvements. The agency also recently partnered with the Nanyang Technological Institute, committing nearly $32 million for research in regional ATM modernization, artificial intelligence and algorithmic learning.
