MOSCOW -- Italian maintenance, repair and overhaul services provider Atitech S.p.A. has signed an agreement with Russian state-owned company Rostec and its subsidiary Technodinamika for the construction of a repair center near Moscow.
The facility, to be constructed in two-years' time, will provide MRO services on aircraft components and engines for foreign and domestic carriers, Rostech said, with an emphasis on the Sukhoi Superjet 100, Irkut MC-21 and large commercial craft from Airbus, Bombardier and Boeing.
"The Russian-Italian business dialogue has always been at a high level, and the structure of economic cooperation between the two countries allows us to talk about significant potential for both sides," said Rostech chair Sergei Chemezov. "Technodinamika has accumulated extensive experience in the organization of aircraft maintenance and repair processes, while cooperation with Italy's Atitech will strengthen its position in this market and expand its presence in the Moscow region, where the demand for MRO is the highest in Russia."
Russian specialists will train at Atitech's teaching center in Naples concurrent to the Russian facility's construction.
The Italian company specializes in air navigation services, while Technodinamika focuses on the development, production and after-sales of aircraft systems and units.
