WOODINVILLE, Wash. -- Dynon Avionics has announced a pair of portable systems designed for ease of use and portability.

The first represents the latest version of the company's "Pocket Panel" line. Called the D3 Pocket Panel, Dynon said the electronic flight instrument system (EFIS) features a new synthetic vision display, improved brightness and an intuitive touchscreen interfaces.

The D3 uses the same attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) Dynon uses in its panel-mounted products, but does not require Federal Aviation Administration approval for installation since it does not require tools for installation.

The units have a list price of US$995 and include home and airplane chargers, an optional external GPS antenna, and a pair of mounting options.

Second, Dynon's new "DRX" is an ADS-B traffic and weather receiver, designed to support connectivity with popular mobile apps like ForeFlight and FlyQ. The company said the DRX not only improves in-flight situational awareness, but also gives pilots access to NEXRAD Radar, METARS, TAFs, WAAS GPS positioning and more.

The DRX has a list price of $395.
