AVIC selects Rockwell Collins to outfit line of MA700 turboprops
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Aviation Industry Corp. of China has selected Rockwell Collins to provide avionics and other equipment for its line of MA700 turboprop aircraft.
Per a contract announced today, Rockwell Collins will supply products from its line of Pro Line Fusion avionics and air data systems, in addition to its HGS-3500 head-up guidance system as an airline selectable option.
The flight decks will feature four pilot-configurable 14-inch widescreen LCD displays, interactive graphical maps, MultiScan weather radar, and geo-referenced electronic navigation capabilities.
"Pro Line Fusion will give them a fully-loaded package of baseline equipment for operation in the modernized global airspace, including the ADS-B out mandate compliance, enhanced navigational capabilities, radius-to-fix legs, touchscreen interfaces and more," said Craid Olson, vice president and general manager of Rockwell Collins' Business and Regional Systems arm.
Rockwell Collins said the work will take place at its facilities in the United States and India, as well as its joint venture, Rockwell Collins CETC Avionics Co. (RCCAC) in China. The company is also working with China's Aeronautics Computing Technique Research Institute (ACTRI) to support further avionics development and integration with other on-board MA700 systems.
The company has preciously installed its Pro Line II and Pro Line 21 avionics systems in AVIC MA60s and MA600s.
AVIC is expected to perform its first flights with the MA700 in November 2019, with certifications to follow by 2021.
