NORTHAMPTON, England -- Maintenance, repair and overhaul services provider Monarch Aircraft Engineering is set to open a new component maintenance center in September.
The facility will be located centrally between Monarch's Luton and Birmingham base maintenance facilities in Northampton.
The company said it will offer a range of capabilities, including composite repairs, welding, machining, cadmium plating, bearing spinning, spraying, heat treatment, hardness testing, aircraft tooling, and recharging of oxygen and battery systems.
"Our new Northampton facility will enable us to more effectively and efficiently support our burgeoning line and base maintenance facilities across the U.K.," said Chris Dane, managing director. "This multi-million pound investment in new facilities, equipment and, most importantly, skilled engineering talent is an integral part of our long-term growth plan and will play a vital role in our success in the years ahead.
The center will employee 30 people and be led by Monarch's head of maintenance, Lee Burgess.
Monarch has nine maintenance stations at airports around the U.K., providing services for Airbus, Boeing, Embraer and Bombardier aircraft.
