PLANO, Texas -- Equipment manufacturer L3 Technologies has combined its Aerospace Systems arm with Sensor Systems to form the Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems group in a move intended to "maximize growth and improve its integration and collaboration across the enterprise."

The move took effect last week, with the new ISR group to be led by Jeffrey Miller, L3 Senior Vice President and President of Sensor Systems. Mark Von Schwarz will retire from his role as President of Aerospace Systems following the completion of the transition.

"We are rapidly transforming L3 for integration and growth by strengthening our technological alignments, which enables us to more effectively build upon our competitive advantages," said Christopher Kubasik, chair, President and CEO.

The company said the groups accounted for a combined $4.7 billion in sales in 2018 and have a goal of improving operating margins to 12 percent in 2019.

"The increased scale of our new ISR Systems segment highlights our attractive position as a global ISR prime contractor and accelerates our ability to address our customers' increasingly complex needs," Kubasik said.
