SAINT PETERSBURG -- Russian carrier Rossiya Airlines is working with the SITA Group to implement a digital tablet-based flight information system across its fleet.

The system will rely on SITAONAIR's "CrewTab" platform, which gives crew members the ability to access passenger data and other cabin intelligence via Apple iPads.

"Currently, airlines typically provide such information in paper formats," SITAONAIR said. "By contrast, a key benefit of CrewTab is its ability to digitize workflows, streamline reporting, eliminate operational duplication and provide a complete flight information picture, quickly and efficiently."

Rossiya said CrewTab will also provide it with new insights into its processes, giving the airliner more opportunities to increase its performance.

"Cabin crews spend more time talking to passengers than anyone else in the airline and are, therefore, central to the passenger experience," SITAONAIR said. "Deploying a tactile, responsive and information-rich technology such as CrewTab presents Rossiya with immediate benefits and advances to both the quality and efficiency of its cabin performance."
