MISSION VIEJO, Calif. – Holt Integrated Circuits in Mission Viejo, Calif., is introducing development kits to provide a reference design and development platform for Holt's newest family of MIL-STD-1553 avionics databus terminals.

The development kits are Holt's recently announced ADK-62003 BC/RT/MT terminal functions and ADK-62023 RT-only terminal.

Holt's HI-6200 family offers register-level software compatibility with the DDC Mini-ACE, Enhanced Mini-ACE, Micro-ACE, Mini-ACE Mark3 and Total-ACE families of MIL-STD-1553 terminals.

The compact single-chip monolithic design in a 12-by-12-millimeter plastic package offers space and cost savings over traditional hybrid or multi-chip module approaches.

An improved and simplified high-performance 16-bit host interface provides fast access time to shared ECC RAM to reduce latency and CPU use.

The development kits also include Holt's MIL-STD-1553 API runtime library, included as executable object code. The API Library provides standard functions for configuration, control, status, and message processing, isolating the programmer from low-level register, RAM and discrete I/O operations.

The software library provides compatibility with existing applications developed using the competitor's API with minimal porting effort. Full source code is available on request with a signed software license agreement.
