SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Support Systems Associates, Inc. (SSAI) has awarded Elbit Systems of America a $5 million-to-$22 million sub-contract for intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance (ISR) avionics on the U.S. Air National Guard’s RC-26B fleet. Work will be performed in San Antonio by Elbit America subsidiary M7 Aerospace, which is the type certificate holder for the fixed-wing twin turboprop RC-26B, reports Nick Zazulia for Defense Daily.

February 6-The RC-26 family of turboprop, fixed-wing airplanes is a workhorse for Department of Defense and Homeland Security for its missions, as well as FEMA after natural disasters. The U.S. Air National Guard is getting an avionics refresh for its RC-26B planes to keep the 50-year-old design current.
