LATAM selects Lufthansa Technik’s AVIATAR software tools for fleet maintenance
HAMBURG, Germany - Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg, Germany, announced it has signed a multi-year agreement with LATAM Airlines Group in Las Condes, Chile, to deploy its AVIATAR software tools across more than 300 aircraft, including Airbus A320s, Boeing 777s, and Boeing 787s. The initiative aims to enhance fleet reliability, reduce maintenance-related delays, and support LATAM’s broader digital transformation in technical operations.
LATAM will use AVIATAR’s Predictive Health Analytics to monitor live aircraft and airline data, allowing the airline to forecast potential technical issues before they occur. The system has already shown a 20% reduction in delays and cancellations linked to technical disruptions.
"Lufthansa Technik has proven to be a key partner for LATAM in our digital transformation roadmap," said Enrique Parada, Vice President of Engineering and Maintenance at LATAM Airlines Group. "This agreement is a major step toward leveraging data-driven insights for optimized maintenance operations."

Automation
In addition to predictive maintenance, LATAM is implementing AVIATAR’s Electronic Technical Logbook to digitize cockpit-to-maintenance communications. The tool enables pilots to report technical issues using automated and standardized data entry, improving reporting accuracy and reducing turnaround times. The logbook operates across devices and integrates directly with LATAM’s Maintenance & Engineering system, enabling real-time coordination between flight crews and ground technicians.
"LATAM is one of the most forward-thinking operators in the Americas," said Philip Mende, Vice President Digital Fleet Services at Lufthansa Technik. "We’re proud to support their journey by developing predictive use cases and delivering measurable impact with our digital tools."
AVIATAR, launched in 2017, is part of Lufthansa Technik’s broader Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem. The modular software tools offers a suite of services that combine engineering expertise, fleet management tools, and data analytics to support aircraft operations.
