Klein AirCar unveils production prototype of its flying car

Slovakia's Klein Vision has now made more than 500 test flights of its rather handsome 4th-gen AirCar prototype, Loz Blain writes for New Atlas.

15 May 2025 - At the Living Legends of Aviation gala, Stefan Klein unveiled the production prototype of his AirCar and received the Special Recognition Award for Engineering Excellence. A short documentary showcased his 35-year journey and five generations of innovation in personal air mobility. The AirCar, which holds a Certificate of Airworthiness, has completed over 170 flight hours and 500 takeoffs and landings. It transforms from car to aircraft in under two minutes and features a 280-horsepower engine, composite materials, and advanced aerodynamics.

"Receiving this recognition from the Living Legends of Aviation is a tremendous honor and a humbling milestone," said Stefan Klein, founder of Klein Vision. "The AirCar fulfills a lifelong dream to bring the freedom of flight into the hands of everyday people. With the launch of our production prototype, we are one step closer to transforming how the world moves — merging the road and the sky into a new dimension of personal mobility."
