TTEthernet allows three traffic classes to operate in parallel on one physical medium without interference: standard Ethernet traffic, rate-constrained traffic, and time-triggered Ethernet.

Questions and answers:

What technology did TTTECH Aerospace provide for Honeywell’s new flight management system? TTTECH Aerospace supplied its TTEthernet End System solution, which enables deterministic, safety-critical data transfer based on open networking standards.

Why is this technology important for the next-generation flight management system? It supports Honeywell’s requirements for modularity, upgradeability, and reliable data networking, helping improve operational efficiency, safety, and compatibility with future aircraft.

Which aircraft use TTTECH Aerospace’s TTEthernet technology? The technology is already in service on the Airbus A220, Boeing 787, and Embraer C-390.

VIENNA, Austria - TTTECH Aerospace in Vienna, Austria, announced its TTEthernet End System solution has been selected by Honeywell in Phoenix for the data network in its next-generation flight management system (nFMS) for air transport platforms.

The Honeywell nFMS acts as the "brain" of modern airliners, responsible for navigation, performance calculations, and guiding aircraft efficiently along planned routes. The system integrates TTTECH Aerospace’s Deterministic TTEthernet End System for data transfer in line with IEEE 802.3, ARINC 664 part 7, and SAE AS6802 standards. The use of open networking standards enables broad compatibility with current and future aircraft programs.

TTEthernet allows three traffic classes to operate in parallel on one physical medium without interference: standard Ethernet traffic, rate-constrained traffic and time-triggered Ethernet. The system supports Honeywell’s requirements for new capabilities, modularity, and upgradeability while enhancing operational efficiency, reliability, and safety.

"TTTECH Aerospace’s proven expertise in delivering safety-critical, high-performance data network solutions has made them a trusted partner," said Vipul Gupta, vice president and general manager of avionics at Honeywell Aerospace.
