5 August 2025 - Advanced air mobility company AutoFlight in Shanghai has completed what it says is the world’s first offshore cargo delivery using a certified electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. On 3 August 2025, the AutoFlight V2000CG CarryAll - a 2-metric-ton class unmanned eVTOL platform -transported fresh supplies and emergency medical materials from Shenzhen to the Huizhou 19-3 offshore oil platform. AutoFlight's cargo eVTOL was certified in China in late July.
The aircraft’s deployment was coordinated in partnership with the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and CITIC Offshore Helicopter. The mission integrated digital air traffic control and route planning, showcasing a networked infrastructure supporting beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) flight operations over water.
