ULP 1553 isolation transformers are small single-channel isolation devices, providing smaller size and less weight than what was previously available.

BOHEMIA, N.Y. – Data Device Corp. (DDC) in Bohemia, N.Y., is introducing two ultra-compact MIL-STD-1553 magnetics components for military and commercial avionics applications.

These MIL-STD-1553 magnetics components provide size and weight savings and enable minimized package design and optimized system connectivity.

The ULP series 1553 isolation transformers are small single-channel isolation devices, providing a 46 percent smaller size with 32 percent less weight than what was previously available.

This enables line-replaceable unit (LRU) box manufacturers to fit these isolation transformers near edge connectors for efficient MIL-STD-1553 data transmission and package design.

The DBM series data bus couplers use a small coupler housing body that measures 1.1 inches long by 0.31 inches high for flexibility in integrating harness assemblies with LRU's on the aircraft, providing optimized system connectivity.

Benefits include optimized system design enabled through these smallest size and lightest weight solutions; high reliability that is flight qualified to MIL-PRF-21038; operation in wide military temperatures from -55 to 130 degrees Celsius; and 100 percent compatibility with all DDC 1553 transceivers.
