MISSION VIEJO, Calif. – Holt Integrated Circuits in Mission Viejo, Calif., is introducing the HI-6139 MIL-STD-1553A avionics databus interface for military and aerospace aircraft applications.
The HI-6139, has a software-controlled 1553A mode, and otherwise offers functionally identical to, and is and drop-in compatible with, Holt's existing HI-6138 BC/RT/MT device.
The device provides the possibility of adding MIL-STD-1553A capability to any of the Holt MAMBA terminal designs. The MAMBA family is available in a 48-pin PQFP or 6-by-6-millimeter QFN package.
The devices include integrated dual transceivers on-chip and 8K-by-17-bit word static RAM with parity. The host interface is via a 40 MHz Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI).
The HI-6139 provides compliant 1553A and 1553B capability in one device and enables the support of 1553A legacy applications with minor software modifications.
The device also provides the option in software for an Alternate RT Status Word, enabling control of the RT Status Word bits by the host processor rather than by the device. Samples are available now upon request from Holt.
