NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – L-com, an Infinite Electronics brand in North Andover, Mass. is introducing four lines of fiber-optic connectors and adapters for cabling providers or equipment manufacturers to upgrade to SN hyper-density without redesigning panels or hardware.
Applications for the SN adapters include upgrading fiber management hardware from SC/LC to SN, improving rack-space use in Brownfield data centers, making high-density centralized cross-connects and patch panels, and combining different connector types in mixed fiber panels.
The These fiber-optic connectors consist of SN adapters and connectors made by SENKO Advanced Components and CS adapters and connectors. The SN adapters help fit many connectors in a small space.
The CS adapters can seal out contaminants and keep fiber lines clean. The SN connectors deliver high data rates and small form factors to fit dense installations.

Each adapter will double the density of many existing SC/LC-based hardware and thus reduce the total cost per port of the overall system. Connectors are available in two fibers, four-fibers, or eight fibers.
The CS adapters have built-in automatic shutters that prevent ingress of contamination. A visible light source through the adapter sleeve ease traceability of the adapter.
L-com's SN connectors provide an upgrade path to 400G and beyond. The connectors are suitable for termination to 1.6- or 2-millimeter round cable with a ruggedized jacket and internal strain relief.
