TURNERSVILLE, N.J. – Electronics distributor CDM Electronics Inc. in Turnersville, N.J., is offering the Amphenol NEXUS Technologies miniature RANGER tactical communications interconnects and cable assemblies for mission-critical signal and power applications.

The pin and socket push-pull or break-away locking components have a small size that is suited for soldier wearable applications that require small size and light weight.

The connectors also are for harsh-environment defense simulation systems, electronics training and education facilities, and public safety communications networks.

These connectors offer male and female circular connectors with eight contacts and push-pull, or break-away locking options. Additional connectors are planned with two to 26 contacts.

The connectors have black, anodized aluminum bodies and 360-degree electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) shielding. Other specifications include an operating temperature range of -51 to 125 degrees Celsius, as well as robust mechanical keying.

They are IP68 rated to protect from dust while remaining watertight to water depths of as deep as three feet. Parts also incorporate molded-on wiping-action contacts that support self-cleaning while eliminating concerns with pin and socket open contacts.
