Saab to supply radars for littoral combat ships

General Dynamics has placed an order for Saab medium-range surveillance radar systems for installation on two future U.S. Navy littoral combat ships (LCS). The company will provide Sea Giraffe AMB naval radars designated as AN/SPS-77. The company is contracted to deliver Sea Giraffe radar systems for five classes of surface ships under three separate Navy programs. Technology will aid air and surface surveillance and air traffic control management operations. General Dynamics awarded Saab an additional contract with options to deliver 11 more radars to the LCS program through 2024.
