SUNNYVALE, Calif., 1 Nov. 2005. The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has awarded Inxight Software a $1.7 million contract for information retrieval software.

DIA has purchased Inxight SmartDiscovery ThingFinder and visualization software Inxight StarTree in an enterprise license that covers all nine of the Unified Combatant Commands, U.S. Forces Korea, and the five new Regional Service Centers.

Backed by more than 75 patents, Inxight SmartDiscovery is the most complete, scalable information retrieval solution available today. It speeds and simplifies the process of finding relevant information, enabling organizations to extract maximum value from their most underutilized asset -- unstructured data.

Headquartered at the Pentagon, DIA is a Department of Defense (DoD) combat support agency and a member of the U.S. intelligence community. With more than 7,500 military and civilian employees worldwide, DIA is a major producer and manager of foreign military intelligence. The agency provides timely, objective, valuable military intelligence to warfighters, defense policymakers and force planners in support of U.S. military planning and operations and weapon systems acquisition.

DIA will use the new software at the following offices:
* Central Command (CENTCOM)
* European Command (USEUCOM)
* Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM)
* Northern Command (USNORTHCOM)
* Pacific Command (USPACOM)
* Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM)
* Special Operations Command (USSOCOM)
* Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM)
* Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM)
* U.S. Forces Korea
* Northeast Regional Service Center
* Southeast Regional Service Center
* Western Regional Service Center
* Pacific Regional Service Center
* European Regional Service Center

"Inxight is very proud to do our part to help DIA continue to fight the war on terror," said Paul Battaglia, president of Inxight Federal Systems Group. "This contract further validates the importance of Inxight's solutions for enabling fast, accurate discovery and delivery of actionable intelligence to the government and intelligence communities."
