NEW YORK, N.Y., 14 April 2005. L-3 Communications announced today that it acquired Mobile-Vision, Inc.. The company will be renamed L-3 Communications Mobile-Vision, Inc. and is expected to be accretive to L-3 Communications' results for 2005. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Located in Boonton, N.J., Mobile-Vision is a leading supplier of in-vehicle video recording systems for law enforcement agencies, with a product line that includes both analog and digital recording systems, plus associated peripherals. The company has an installed product base of over 50,000 systems for over 4,500 state and local law enforcement agencies.
The company's Flashback digital video recording system includes a console-mounted digital video recorder with a solid-state flash memory, a video camera, wireless microphone and a small LCD monitor. The system allows simultaneous recording of up to two video sources and three audio sources, plus supporting data including time, date and GPS location. Mobile-Vision also offers software and servers for reviewing and archiving video records.

Mr. Lanza also noted that Mobile-Vision will be a part of L-3's Products Group, overseen by senior vice president and Products Group President and COO Charles J. Schafer.
